The hike we did is in the shape of a letter “W”, and is called so. We started with an “I” hike. Next, we continued to “L”. On day three, we already drew “U”, and one day later the entire “W” was done. Most hikers take the boat from the last base of W to finish. However, we decided to do another 20km. This route is rarely followed, so on the last day we found ourselves completely alone on the flat, hairy and stretching far to the horizon steppes of Patagonia. That’s why Maciek begun to call it a “Щ” hike. For me, due to the fatigue, it remains the ‘torres del paine in the ass’ hike.
We had quite a misty weather during the first 2 days and not much of a view on torres. However, the stay on the last campsite at laguna beach, view on the glacier and condors above was worth doing the whole W. The icebergs floating by quietly made our ‘whisky on the rocks’ complete.
P.S. Hint for hike preparations: never shop on empty stomach. We took twice as much food as needed, and had to carry it around for a week and now are left with powdered food for Christmas
