PS. Routa 40, still on the bus

It is almost 10 pm now and it is still quite a bright day. We’ve been driving the whole day. Just a small add to the Patagonia part.

At the moment we’re approaching El Chalten on the bus. We see one of the most beautiful mountain sceneries one can imagine. Before our eyes appeared the mighty Fitz Roy and the jaw-dropping Cerro Torre. What a peak! So spiky that it almost pierces when looking at it. It is now beautifully lit by the setting sun. We are still some 100km away from FitzRoy and as we’re still on the very flat part of Patagonia, we get to observe this spectacle for another few hours – till we get to our destination, the village El Chalten. The mountain is reflected in the vast Lago Viedma. Let’s only hope for good weather for the next couple of days, in order to do some hikes around this range.

Yes, you are in t-shirts, but there was an ice on the lake. What was the temperature like?

Isn’t it too cold? Snow, ice and T-shirts. Mama said that everything is nice, but too strict, cold and severe for her. Be careful and don’t catch a cold.
